Science Fair – Saturday, March 16, 2019

Old Dominion University, Webb Center


 Dear Tidewater Science Fair Applicant,

 Congratulations!  You have been selected to participate in the Sixty-sixth Tidewater Science and Engineering Fair.  The Fair will be hosted by Old Dominion University  in the Webb Student Center. Please carefully read the information below.  If you are unable to attend for any reason, please contact us as soon as possible. We look forward to an exciting competition! See you soon.

 Step 1: Complete all research and develop a final abstract.  Submit your abstract electronically to the link found on tidewatersciencecongress.org by March 1st at 5:00 pm.  Our judges will review electronic abstracts prior to the fair.

 Step 3: Prepare your project board and presentation with careful regard to the display regulations listed below.

 Maps, Parking, and Food:

The Campus Map and Webb Center info can be found at: https://www.odu.edu/about/visitors

Several breakfast and lunch options will be available on campus.

 Set ups

All students must begin setup at the ODU Webb Center no later than 7:15. There will be no student check-in. Project packets will be found at the project locations.  Project Location Maps and the WiFi code will be distributed via the website and Facebook page the week of the event.

 Display Regulations

The maximum space for each project is 122 cm (48 in.) side to side; 67 cm (30 in.) front to back; and 274 cm (108 in.) in height, floor to top.  

No living organisms, solutions, chemicals, glass, or cultures may be displayed at the fair.

7:15-7:30       Students should setup projects.

7:45-8:40       Judges preview projects without students.

8:45-11:30     Judges review projects with students. Students must be with their backboard during this time.

11:30-12:30   Break

12:30-1:30     Public viewing of projects. Students must be with their backboard during this time.

2:00-4:00       Awards Ceremony.
